About 15 West African countries are to benefit from 600 million dollars programme to improve hydrometeorological services in the sub-region, courtesy of collaboration between the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Meteorological Organisation.
The programme dubbed: “Strengthening Climate Change and Disaster Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa”, aimed at improving meteorological services in Africa, where most countries have poor infrastructure and lacked modern technology for reliable and timely capture and transmission of meteorological information to the public.
